I.  Goddess Spirituality 101

Deepen your vision and focus your will, empowering yourself to act in the world with fully embodied passion. Learn to create a sacred circle and work with the elements of earth, water, fire and spirit. Learn devotional songs and invocations to some of the ancient Goddesses and Gods of Hawaii, the British Isles, India and Africa.

Techniques will include sacred dance, drumming, singing, breath work, visualization, sensing - projecting and raising energy, grounding and structuring meaningful ritual. Please read the first six chapters of The Spiral Dance by Starhawk before our first class. This class meets SIX times.

II.  The Spiral Dance of Renewal

Passion, Body, Breath. In this six weeks we will stretch, move, dance, sweat, chant, sound, sing, laugh and cry. Spiraling in to release numbness, confusion, paralysis, anger, grief and despair. Spiraling out to join community, connection, openness, inspiration, wonder, wildness and JOYFUL PASSIONATE ACTION.

This is a physically active class so prepare to stretch both your body and your soul. All levels of movement and magic are welcome.

III.  Pentacle of Pearl

Deepen your understanding of your core energies and personal boundaries with the Pentacle of Pearl. We will spend one full evening with each of the five points: Love, Law, Knowledge, Power and Wisdom exploring these energies and how they move through our bodies and lives. This class meets on SIX Fridays.

IV.  Ancestor Wisdom

Learn to call on your ancestors' guides with love and respect. Learn to create simple and elaborate ancestor alters, to interpret their guidance through divinatory tools and to create rituals that honor their lives and the wisdom they have to offer us. This class meets THREE times.

V.  Wheel of the Year

Deepen your connection to, and understanding of the Goddess and Gods of the Eight Spoked Wheel of the Year: Brigid, Lugh, Demeter, Persephone, Mabon, and many others.

Each class will be a full ritual honoring a particular sabat: Samhain (Halloween), Beltane (May Day), Brigid (Candlemas), Lammas (Lughnasad), Yule, Summer Solstice, Spring and Fall Equinoxes.

Techniques include ritual drumming and singing, sacred dance, trance, story sharing, yule log, cauldron and candlework, chanting and raising energy.

We recommend you read or re-read the Wheel of the Year section of The Spiral Dance by Starhawk and other historical materials we will provide. This class meets EIGHT times.

VI.  The Magic of Herbs

Make friends with magical and medicinal herbs and lichens. Create antifungal powder, healing oils, and herbal tinctures, all while in Sacred Space. This class begins with an herb walk.

VII.  Rites of Passage

Through storytelling, release work, dream re-creation and a variety of trance sharing techniques, we receive our challenges, meet our helpers, work through our blocks and emerge renewed.

PREREQUISITE: Elements of Magic or equivalent experience. This class culminates in a Rite of Passage created by the students.

VIII.  Triple Souls

Learn the Craft of the Wise by aligning your triple souls with the cycles of the sun and moon. Sharpen your intention. Heal you will. Spells for grounding, protection, personal and planetary transformations. Harvest fragrant herbs by the light of the moon.

IX.  The Iron Pentacle

Explore your energy and boundaries through the use of the iron pentacle. We will spend one full evening with each of the five points: Sex, Pride, Self, Power and Passion.

Techniques include: drum trance, cathartic movement and sounding, meditation, dropped and open attention, aspecting, dialogues with inflated and deflated selves.

PREREQUISITE: Elements of Magic or equivalent experience. This class has SIX meetings.

X.  Power & Mystery

Descend with Inanna. Trance, dance and learn to embrace your Shadow Self. The Shadow, or Self-hater, holds the treasure-house where-in lies all we have rejected our of shame, fear, patriarchal imprinting and lack of love.

Create a Self-hater Doll, Attend the Master/Servant Masked Ball, the Self-hater Dolls' Tea Party and of course, descend with Inanna. This class is based on Starhawk's book Truth or Dare.

XI.  Journey of Soul/The Healing Tarot

Learn to use the tarot for personal healing, relationship challenges and depth counseling for individuals in transition. You will learn some powerful spreads and how to use them to create spells of empowerment and transformation for yourself and others.

XII.  Ritual Drumming & Chanting

Give voice to the rhythms of your soul with Ritual Drumming & EnCHANT-ment. Learn and share sensual and satisfying ways to energize circles and gatherings with body, voice and a variety of percussion possibilities.

Learn simple frame drum rhythms to accompany trance, and exiting rhythms to raise energy. Bring your drum or use one of ours.

Learn to use music as a priestess as we prepare together for a Festive & Powerful Ritual.
